1. Introduction and Purpose

This Fair Use Policy defines reasonable usage limits for Browser.lol Services to ensure fair access and optimal performance for all users. This policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

Our Services are designed for typical business and personal use. While we offer generous resource allocations, this policy exists to prevent abuse that could negatively impact other users' experience or strain our infrastructure.

Fair use ensures that resources remain available for all customers and maintains service quality across our platform.

2. Fair Use Principles

Fair use is determined by evaluating your usage patterns relative to:

  • Your subscription plan: Each plan has specific limits and allocations
  • Average usage patterns: Your usage compared to similar customers on the same plan
  • Resource impact: The effect of your usage on infrastructure and other users
  • Business purpose: Whether usage aligns with the intended purpose of the Services
  • Consistency with guidelines: Compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy

We monitor usage to detect patterns that may indicate excessive or inappropriate use. Our goal is to maintain a sustainable, high-quality service for all users.

3. Resource Limits and Guidelines

3.1. Browser Workspace Usage

Each subscription plan includes specific limits for browser workspace usage:

Free Plan

  • Maximum concurrent workspaces: 1
  • Session timeout (inactivity): 15 minutes
  • Maximum session duration: 2 hours
  • Ad-supported (periodic ads required to maintain sessions)
  • Limited browser selection

Paid Plans (Basic/Premium/Enterprise)

  • Concurrent workspaces: Varies by plan (typically 3-20+)
  • Session timeout: 30-60 minutes depending on plan
  • Maximum session duration: 8-24 hours depending on plan
  • Full browser selection available
  • API access (higher-tier plans)

Note: Specific limits for your plan are displayed in your account dashboard and in the pricing page at the time of subscription.

3.2. Bandwidth Usage

While we do not impose hard bandwidth caps, excessive bandwidth consumption may be subject to review:

  • Typical Usage: Average users consume 10-50 GB per month
  • Acceptable High Usage: Up to 200 GB per month for premium plans with legitimate use cases
  • Excessive Usage: Consistently exceeding 500 GB per month may trigger a review

Excessive bandwidth usage for purposes such as torrenting, continuous video streaming to third parties, or using workspaces as CDN/proxy services is prohibited.

3.3. Computational Resources

Each browser workspace has allocated CPU and memory resources. Fair use includes:

  • CPU: Workspaces should not continuously max out CPU resources (> 80% for extended periods)
  • Memory: Memory usage should remain within allocated limits (varies by browser and plan)
  • Processes: Running excessive background processes or cryptocurrency mining is prohibited

Resource-intensive activities like video editing or 3D rendering may be throttled or restricted to ensure fair access for all users.

3.4. Storage Limits

Browser workspaces are ephemeral and not designed for long-term storage:

  • Downloaded files within workspaces are deleted when the workspace session ends
  • Profile data and settings may be saved between sessions (depending on plan)
  • Using workspaces as file storage or hosting services is prohibited

3.5. API Usage (Where Applicable)

If your plan includes API access, fair use guidelines apply:

  • Rate Limits: Vary by plan, typically 100-1000 requests per hour
  • Burst Limits: Short bursts above the rate limit may be allowed but sustained exceeding is prohibited
  • Caching: Implement appropriate caching to minimize redundant API calls

API rate limits are documented in our API documentation and enforced through HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) responses.

3.6. Integrated Mail Service

For users with access to our integrated mail service:

  • Maximum messages stored: 50 (oldest deleted when exceeded)
  • Message retention: 30 days maximum
  • Sending limits: Reasonable personal/business use; bulk email sending is prohibited
  • Using the mail service for spam or mass marketing is strictly prohibited

4. Prohibited Resource Usage

The following activities are considered violations of fair use and are prohibited:

  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Using browser workspaces for cryptocurrency mining or similar compute-intensive operations
  • Proxy/VPN Services: Operating browser workspaces as proxy servers or VPN services for third parties
  • Continuous Downloading: Using workspaces for continuous downloading of large files or torrenting
  • Automated Scraping: Running automated web scraping operations that generate excessive bandwidth or requests
  • DDoS or Network Attacks: Using resources to launch denial-of-service attacks or network scanning
  • Reselling Services: Reselling or sublicensing workspace access to third parties without authorization
  • Multiple Account Abuse: Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits
  • Session Manipulation: Using automated tools to prevent session timeouts or artificially extend sessions

For a complete list of prohibited activities, see our Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

5.1. Usage Monitoring

We automatically monitor resource usage to ensure compliance with this policy, including:

  • Number of active and total workspace sessions
  • Session duration and frequency
  • Bandwidth consumption patterns
  • CPU and memory utilization
  • API request rates and patterns
  • Storage usage

This monitoring is automated and does not involve inspection of the content within your browser sessions, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5.2. Enforcement Actions

If we determine that your usage exceeds fair use limits, we may take one or more of the following actions:

Step 1: Warning

Email notification explaining the issue and requesting you reduce usage

Step 2: Throttling

Temporary reduction in service speed or resource allocation

Step 3: Suspension

Temporary suspension of service until the issue is resolved

Step 4: Termination

Permanent termination of account for severe or repeated violations

The specific action taken depends on the severity of the violation, your usage history, and your response to previous warnings. We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts engaged in activities that pose security risks or significantly impact other users.

5.3. Appeals Process

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error:

  1. Contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the action
  2. Provide your account information and explanation

6.1. Upgrade Your Plan

Higher-tier plans offer increased limits:

  • More concurrent workspaces
  • Longer session durations
  • Higher bandwidth allocations
  • Increased API rate limits

Visit our pricing page or contact sales for plan comparisons.
